Hey people! My name's Noah, and I have two little geckos. I'm not a breeder, and I've only had them for a couple of months. I read up as much as I could on how to take care of geckos, but I don't know anybody who has any real experience with them, so I thought it would be a good idea to join this forum. My geckos are both leos, one of them is a sub-adult and the other is between sub-adult and baby. I don't have them in the same tank though, as I heard the bigger one will pick on the smaller one. I am pretty sure they are both females, but the smaller one is too small to tell. I feed them mainly on mealworms, and the few times I put crickets in they didn't touch them. You can read more about them in my gallery, and I look forward to hearing about people's experiences with geckos.

Welcome to the forum. I checked your gallery out. Keisha is cute. Could not really see the little one. I did notice sand in tank and soil in the little one's home. My advise: get that out and replace with paper towels, or tile. They will ingest it, and possibly get impacted.

The sand in the little one's container is actually black-colored sand, but I know what you mean. About a week ago I noticed that Keysha was sitting in her water bowl a lot. I asked a gecko friend about it and they said it means that the gecko may be constipated from ingesting the sand. The store I got it from said it was perfectly okay for them to eat it, but apparently not. Is there any other sort of sand that would be good, or are paper towels the way to go?
Also, the sand in the little gecko's tank has much larger granules, and nothing that would encourage the gecko to eat it. Is there still a chance that it would be harmful to the gecko?

Noah, you will be better off with paper towels. The pet stores sometimes give the wrong information. Some lizards may do ok with sand, but it will only cause problems with the leos. I know it does not look that pretty, but clean up is a breeze!!!

If u want something that looks nice, get slate tiles. I have tile in my setup and it looks and functions great.
