Hello, this is my first post here. I have recently become the proud parent of two bearded dragons, when i recieved them they were blth fairly small "roughly 4-5 inches" and now a month later one is about 6 inches and the other about 9-12.

My question is regarding the attached photo. My smaller one got into a fight with the larger one last night, and I noticed his tail is damaged/ black/ partially broken. I have searched the web for answers and found this site. I dont know if it is Tail rot, general damage from the fight, or something else. Can any of you experts share some helpful wisdom with me?

I thank you and so does Ren "in photo"

If the fight was last night, that tail has nothing to do with it. It could be trauma from a previous fight, or from a bad shed, but it's safe to say that tail looks like it's been like that for quite a while. The infection and necrosis appears to be traveling up the tail, and might need to be amputated at this point. Left untreated, the animal could become septic (the infection becomes systemic) and prove fatal. This is not something you can correct with a tweak in husbandry, or at-home care. Medical intervention is needed at this point.
