Substrate:
Paper towel, repti-carpet, slate tile, newspaper, shelf-paper.... NO LOOSE SUBSTRATE, WHICH INCLUDES: SAND, BARK, WALNUT SHELLS, WOOD SHAVINGS, ASPEN, COCOFIBER, ETC.

Tank size:
A 50 is a bit large for 2 geckos but as long as the heating is proper and there are enough hides, it should be okay. As for genders..... do not put a male and a female together unless you want eggs. And there are RISKS that come with eggs including possible death of the female because of the eggs being "eggbound". DO NOT keep males and females together until the female is of breeding weight and it is safe for her to carry eggs, because YES, they WILL get busy :) (breeding weight is a minimum of 50grams) 2 or more (wouldn't go over 4, personally.) females can live together happily as long as no one is bullying each other for food and as long as one gecko isn't significantly larger than another because an adult WOULD eat a hatchling.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. I'll respond to what I think I understand...

A 50 gallon tank is pretty big for two juveniles. Male leopard geckos cannot reside with other male leopard geckos, as they will fight, sometimes turning out fatal. Males and females may be kept together (usually one male to one or two females), and females alone may be kept together...but never two males.

Rather than filling the extra space with more animals, why don't you get more cage furnature, moist hides, extra substrate thermometers, water & food bowls, or stock up on feeders?

Hope I could help.
