So I was reading on here about someone who had a tokay and was taming it. I just recently bought one and it's slate grey (which he also mentioned happens when they get stressed) my question is how do you relax them? I fell like if I try to handle him he will get further stressed out an I def don't want that.

I'm no Tokay expert but from what I understand "trying to relax them" may result in losing a few fingers. They are a species of gecko that's totally gorgeous but extremely feisty and very hard to tame.

Looks normal to me. It takes lots of patience and time, and a little bit of blood, but at the end, you have a tokay that doesn't fear you, which makes it immensely easier for cage cleaning, general checkups, etc.

I know my Tokay gets stressed if I leave any lights on. I had a nightlight on in my pet room for a while and when I removed it, I noticed she was wearing brighter colors. It could be something like that in the environment that's bothering him.

I just recently tried to handle my Tokay without gloves, and it went really well. I didn't get her all the way out, but I did get my hand underneath her. I dusted my hands in eco earth before I tried it and she was totally chill with it. I'm going to try to work my way up with handling her gloveless.

Good luck with your taming efforts!
