Tip of the day!!

Just got a block of this stuff about a week ago.
I have just been using the regular reptile moss that all the pet stores sell.

Folks recommended this New Zealand stuff because it's softer and retains moisture longer.

They where right!! I love this stuff, and my leos like it so much, I cant get them OFF of it!!
It does not have all those sticks and junk in it. It's even soft when it's dry.

I bought a large compressed block of it from a gardening supply website.

And NO dyes or other chemicals added. Very safe for leos. I even stuck some in my mouth to see if it had any taste, it doesnt!!

If you like to use moss, but dont like sticks and green dye, check this stuff out!! :main_yes:

Thanks. I want to try it. Can you give us a not-to-subtle hint where you got it?

Is New Zealand moss the type that you find at garden centres?
I use the special Spagnum moss for reptiles and it dries out quickly as its on top of the heatmat.

I buy the huge 20lb Candain Spagnum Moss at Lowes ... It is dark brown like dirt is it ok to use ... I mix in a little vermiculite to hold the moisture.

If it stays moist, and they dont eat it, it's fine :)
