Alright guys Im a newbie here so go easy on me :). I am looking to get a leo and I have a couple of questions.

1. Baby or Adult?
2. Is a 15/20 gallon tank ok?
3. Pair or just one?
4. What are the basic things I need besides calcium, food, water, and lights?
5. What kind of light?
6. Which is most docile male or female?
7. Are they ok with being handles because I am looking forward to interaction
8. Will they jump out of my hands?
9. Do they bite?
10. What are some infections to look out for that are common?

Sorry about all of the questions I just want to be over prepared

1. Juvenile or adult for your first
2. 10gallon for one 20gallon long for a pair
3. You can do one or a pair. If you get a pair you will want to make sure you get two females though.
4. Lights are really not needed. You will need an under tank heater, a warm side hide for each gecko and a cool side hide for each gecko, and a humid hide.
5. No light needed.
6. All depends on the gecko it's self.
7. Most are okay with being handled. Just take it slow at first and the more you handle the more they seem to enjoy it.
8. At first they may jump, until they get used to you. The younger or the rarely handled will be more jumpy.
9. Some have been known to bite. I have had many Leopard geckos over many years and have never been bitten. They are pretty friendly for the most part.
10. Same basic infections other reptile with eyelids can get.

Thanks a lot. So If I had one gecko would it be lonely?

And If I had one gecko It would need a warm hide a cold hide and a moist hide?

Id recomend getting a male as a first gecko because you dont need to worry about them going off food due to ovulation.

Personally I like males because they are larger and have more of a personalit and id get an adult just because little ones can have problems eating but if u want a challange get a juvie and totaly baby it lol. My fav person to get any geckos from is matt with luxurious leopards he is really nice and great to get geckos from. I've also worked with ramseys reptiles he's good but id go with matt for my first one if id do it all ovr again just because he's always there and really great with helping you as a costumer. The only other thing I would say is to get a 20 gal long for a male get a warm and cool hide. I use repti carpet in my tanks. Get a red light and undertank heater with a rehostat to control temp. A water and calcium dish and id start breeding mealworms if I were you it helps save money and its really easy to do if u just put the time and effort into it. As far as problems go just feed it calcium with d3 three times a week and feed everynight and after u get ur gecko let it b for a few weeks and slowly get it to trust u into being handeled. I've never been bitten but it can happen but not to me luckly best of luck any questions shoot me a pm

As far as morphs go I like bright colore and bold patterns so I have aptors and sht. Just look around and find what you like and wait till u find one you love and the cost won't be as important.

You should be able to pick up a raptor pretty cheap depending on were you live anywere from $50-$100, SHT's can varry alot in price depending on bloodlines, but you shouldent have a problem finding them.

I'll second getting a 20 gallon long. A 10 gallon really isn't enough floor space for a single gecko that isn't a very young juvenile. A regular 20 gallon is fine; the long isn't completely necessary. But I just upgraded my tank from a regular 20 to the 20L and my boy is loving it! :)

A 10 is fine, but a 20 is only better if you heat it more, so your going to drop about $20 more for a 20g and a bigger heater.

Yes it would moist hides are actuly opnital when it comes down to 100% having it and they like being alone, also when you have pairs or trios and stuff it puts stress on the geckos.
