Hello. :)

I'm not new to herps, but haven't had them for quiet some time. Husband started it all over again with bringing home a Bearded Dragon. At 6mths old and 16in long our lil dragon is just a riot to be with. Course you all know the weird looks you get when out on the front lawn with a lizard on a leash. :main_laugh:

I'm currently living with:

husband #3
2 human children 18yr old girl 9yr old boy
2 M dogs Pom & Pug
4 cats 2M 2F (1M is deaf & 3legged and raised w/dogs so he's "catdog")
1 Lovebird F..she's a DRAMA queen. :D
7 Cockatiels all M
1 bearded Dragon M

I also work with 300+ Aotus "Owl" monkeys and have worked with 500+ Squirrel Monkeys. My work & both monkeys moved from Alabama to Texas and of course I had to move with them because no one else can care for my babies like I can. :main_rolleyes::main_laugh: I've been caring for non human primates for 11yrs and human primates for 19+yrs. ;)

Looking at getting a Leo or Pictus gecko, but need to talk to more Picuts people to help with that decision. ;)

Thanks,
Heather

welcome to GF :)
i have both leopards and panthers but i couldnt tell you why i got the panther. he needed some TLC and i had the money and room..
my leopards are more handable than my pictus. hes very skittish still, but until i get him eating steadily im leaving him alone. im giving him about a month to settle in.
pictus are also smaller, leopards larger.
they have different heating requirements and humidity requirements. i dont think pictus geckos can eat superworms, i know they can eat small crickets, waxworms, and mealworms.

Thanks for your input Ariana. :main_thumbsup: I don't think Pictus could eat supers either, their heads look too small to the size of supers to me. I haven't read much from people on tryin to feed them Dubia either. Know anyone who's tried the tiny dubia with a Pictus? I've got a breeding colony of them and the hatchlings are so tiny, so I was just wondering.

Hi Mel & Keith. :)

Here's a pic or 2 of Boga. Sorry I didn't post them earlier. :)

Boga is adorable :)
if the dubia were small enough, i think you would be able to feed them to pictus. but theyd have to be tiny..but since youre breeding them youd have plenty of small ones.

thanks Ariana. Boga's goin on 7mths of age and all ready at 16in long we think we just maybe spoilin him a bit. ;):D

The tiny dubia's look to be the same/smaller width as what's between a pictus' eyes. I'll measure one and then check at the reptile show on the 30th here. I got my info on nutritional content from Beautiful Dragons Reptile Rescue site

http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html

an really don't like crickets, sorry it's a personal I'ma wimp thing  not a nutrition thing. :main_laugh: But maybe it's a "dragon nutrition vs gecko nutrition" thing. That's why I'm hear ta find info & help from people like you. :main_thumbsup:

Course I have been reading up on the Viper and Dwarf Sand Geckos too....;)
