Okay, for the first time since we got them I actually weighed the two. The female weighs 52g, and the male weighs 38g. I know the male is much smaller, I'm hoping now that they're separated he'll pack on some weight. The female is a much better hunter, so sometimes the male didn't get much food. I started feeding the male first and then the female, but my husband usually just dumped the crickets in the tank.

I also took a couple of pictures of each of the geckos. I'm sorry, they're not the best, but the hubs is still at work and so I had to attempt to take pics with one hand, with my phone. From the pics, and the weight, what do you think? Is the male way too thin? Do they look okay?

Also, I gave each gecko a dish with calcium powder, and both of them immediately started chowing down. They have both eaten a large amount now in a rather short period of time. Apparently they really needed it. So now I feel all guilty again for depriving the poor things of that.

The female is more active tonight than she has been the last few days. Does that mean she's done laying eggs for now?

Anyway, here's the pics. I tried to make them smaller this time. The first two are the female, the other two are the male.

They both look healthy.

As too your female being done laying eggs....well that matters...look at her belly..gently bend her back and push her stomach forward...see if you can see 2 pink dots, one on the upper left hand side, the other on the middle right hand side....or if you can push her belly out and see the formation of eggs, in this same spot they will be white oval shapes that you can see press against the abdomen wall ... dont confuse these with the fat bodies all geckos have right above the legs on either side...eggs will be noticeable only when you bend her back (unless shes close to laying) the fat bodies will be seen at all times.

Hopefully your female was at the end of her cycle...my geckos stopped laying eggs last month....so we can only wish that she was ending late...and not starting early! Female geckos can be fertilized for up to a year with just 1 mating from a male!
