newbie question about homemade incubation

first i want to know if i can make a homemade incubator and substitute the moss with desert snow? also my eggs are dented. does anybody know why? thanks in advance.:help:

I'm incubating it in a container under a nocturnal light.the subtrate i'm using is desert last i had two eggs i used moss butt it just molded the eggs.thank you.

Inorganic media like vermiculite and perlite are better choices, an organic medium like desert snow (wood pulp, essentially fluffy paper) is prone to decay when kept warm and wet.
