Newbie-questions regarding crickets

We have a baby crested that we purchased last week. After giving him a week to settle in and feeding only Repashy we decided to do a couple crickets. One is history, the other is still there. We cannot get the bugger out this morning. How important is it to get the uneaten cricket out of the enclosure? Will it really pick on the gecko? Oh- and if you have any tricks for doing that we would love to know!

Thanks

Welcome to GF. People do say you should remove the crickets if uneaten, but I also find that hard to do with my planted tanks so I do leave them in there with no problems. If you want to hedge your bets a bit, just leave a bottle cap of gut load for the crickets to eat.

I agree. If the cricket has other options like eating CGD and drinking water droplets I don't think they'll choose to snack on your gecko but it is a possibility. IMO Repashy isn't the best diet, I've heard lots of folks say their geckos don't like it or have had health issues because of it. I feed pangea and clarks diets. Whatever the case a bit of variety is always good :)
