Hello every1.. I rescently got two tangerine leopard gecko hatchlings.. About a week old, i have them in a 18x18x36 exo-terra terrarium. After they both had their first shed and saw visible green poop i started feed them by hand.. They seem to be doing good, i also have a calcium dish without D3? I didnt want to use with D3 because from my experience with chameleons to much D3 is bad? Also have a shallow water dish nd two hide outs , and using calcium sand as a substrate? Ive read the sand is good and badd but the breeder i got my babies from has all his geckos in this nd said he never had any problems. Any constructive criticism is appreciated..

Welcome to GF. Here are a few things to consider:
-- You're right that nocturnal geckos don't need much D3. Most people don't keep it in the cage for that reason, but dust the feeders with it 1-2 times a week. Some people don't even keep calcium without D3 in the enclosure for fear that the geckos will get too much calcium.

--nearly all people I know of don't keep babies on any kind of particulate substrate. Those who do keep adult geckos on sand use play sand and don't use calci sand which usually causes impaction and is not digestible even though it has calcium. I would highly recommend keeping them on paper towel, repti carpet or (my favorite) ceramic tile

--they look pretty young, possibly even younger than I as a breeder (in my 10th season) am usually comfortable selling them. Be that as it may, when they get a bit older it will be possible to sex them. If you end up with a male and a female or 2 males, you will need to separate them.

--I recommend you google "leopard gecko care" and read some care sheets. There is more than 1 way to do things and this could give you an idea of the range of methods people use. You can find mine on my website: Geckcessories | Leopard Geckos and Ceramic Gecko Accessories

I have googled their care but theirs only so much the internet tells u thats why i joined this site.. No one can help u better than those with personal experience.. I do have play sand that i use for my chameleon but i was told that the white calci sand is my best option? The breeder told me this? Nd they sold me the babies the same day they were born? I was originally going to get 5 week olds but they had happend to hatch that day nd to me their isnt anything like caring for a creature from wen they bearly come into the world.. Also i looked up how to tell their sex but since their sibling nd they somehow end up being male nd female will i have inbreeding issues? Just a thought? Thanks for the help..
