I store my crickets in small Critter Keepers, which most of you probably know aren't the best since crickets ALWAYS manage to escape, despite how fanatically you tape up every single possible hole they could crawl out of. Until now I haven't cared enough to get something else to store them in.
Why the sudden change of heart? Well, last night as I was blissfully dreaming away, I had this terrible thought of a bug crawling into my brain. I woke with a start and realized that there WAS something crawling in my ear!! I frantically shoved my pinky into my ear canal and managed to fish out a small, 1/4" cricket. I've got silverfish in my apartment too, and I was hoping to God it wasn't one of those things (the legs...auugh! So many!). Later that night I had ANOTHER cricket crawling on me, but this time it was along my arm.
So yeah, don't use critter keepers for feeders folks. Spare yourselves the Steven King dreams.
