Nike The Leopard Gecko

More pictures of Nike my Normal female leopard gecko. I took these pictures of her because after her last shed I noticed that the base of her tail started to get orange. I haven't thought about until today, and I realized that she has a lot of orange on her tail. Does this count as one of those 'carrot tails?'

She was pretty curious about the shiney part of my enV on the camera!

No, she does not count as a carrot tail because there are black spots in the orange. Carrot tail is solid orange with no spotting. She is very pretty, though :)

I knew there was something different about it. Thanks for the compliments!

nice leo. you should really consider getting her a solid substrait (papertowls, tile, newspaper, reptial carpet). If she injest a peice of that bedding somthing bad would happen!

I know, I know, people have been saying the same thing:main_laugh: I take her into another box to feed so that lowers the risk, but I really do need to put some paper towels in. My brother wants it realistic, and I told him make sure it wasn't sand and he got this. Dont worry though.

It dosent really matter if your takeing her out too feed her really, theres still a chance she can eat it, and if your looking for somthing realistic, there's always tile.

She's looking a hell of alot better. Good job at fattening her up. I'm not going to say anything about the substrate... I'm sure you get the point. I must say, I have a thing for the green reptile carpets. Looks pretty nice in the tank, adds a spash of color, plus I love the fact that you can throw it in the washer when it gets icky. Looks even better when you add some foliage in the tank too. Not to harp, merely what I did in my tanks.

My normal, Leonidas, has some orange in her tail as well. Not much, but enough that it's noticable.

Thanks for noticing! I didn't really change anything except feeding them until they become uninterested in the food. I've been doing it for a while, and she attacks her food furiously! I hope she isn't still considered skinny. Shakers is doing better too, but at a bit slower rate then Nike. After I split them up I'm sure he'll get a lot fatter quicker.

Off-topic, but there's a possibility that Nike could be a Het. Blizzard (does that make sense?) When we got her, she was in the same enclosure with a Blizzard that looked like a Diablo Blanco.

She's gotten even more orange after her previous shed, I'll post pictures later. Is this normal for normals, or does this mean that she has some carrot tail blood in her?
