How much does he weight? How old is he? What are you feeding him? How much? What is his set-up like?

I'm not sure what his weight is, I don't have a scale. He's about 7 1/2 months old. I feed him mealworms. 3 or four every 2 days. He has digestible sand and 2 good places to get shade from his light and heat lamp.

Have you ever had a problem then slept on it next day in the morning you have a possible solution?

I happend to me, can leos have tapeworms?

Feed him as much as he will eat within 10-15 minutes time. That's what a lot of people do. And even though that sand SAYS it's digestible, it's not. Get him on a solid substrate, like paper towels, newpaper, etc.
What are you temps?

I'm kind of having the same problem. I have a 2 month old Leo that I feed 8 crickets every three days, yet she still hasn't really grown. Is that a problem? She looks healthy otherwise. The cage temp is a constant 80 degrees. She's on paper towels and has a constant supply of water. Is she just at a slow development stage? She only weighs 13 grams.

Yeah, thats not nearly enough. And the cool end is ok at 80 degrees but the hot end should be 85-90 degrees. Feed her as much as she will eat every day with 10-15 minute feeding periods.

The sand is NOT digestible, it can still become impacted in him, it is marketed as digestible to get you to buy it, so the company can make money. It CAN kill just like play sand. The hiding, and heat sounds okay, to me.

I think they can…

If the gecko is 7 ½ months it “might” be possible that (s)he is done. Can you take a pic of him/her up next to a dollar bill. I know I have a few geckos that seem to stick at around 40 grams. About 5 of my 79 are like that. I don’t worry about it, they are just going to be small gecko, it isn’t any different than a 5’ 98 pound person.

3 or 4 mealworms every 2 days is not enough. Why not leave a bowl of them in all the time? Plus, I agree with everyone else, no sand.

Good luck! I hope he starts gaining some weight for you.

I feed my geckos every day, but thats because I only have 4. I feed the larger one (lupe) supers and the babies get crickets. They seem to keep getting bigger especialy lupe. He's a gonna be a fatty.

3 or 4 every 2 days isnt really enough... my Gecko will eat 20 a day easily pretty much every day and its not by any means a big gecko... then again its only a baby...:D

I think you should try feeding more and see what happens about the weight issue...

Regards, Rich...;)

The "digestable" or as i like to call "impactable" sand isnt really a good idea either... id recommend a 1cm tile substrate 2 tiles thick with 3 layers of paper towel beneath to prevent the tiles from becomming too hot...

I splashed out and use Black Italian tumbled marble tiles lol but dont use glazed as it too slippery... dont buy this marble everyone unless you want to pay £90/$180 per square meter lol...

Regards, Rich...;)

I feed both of my geckos every day unless I dn't have crickets gutloaded first. They can eat anywhere from 6-15 crickets per gecko. Feed them as much as they want when they are young. When they are a year old I would guess they would start cutting themselves back if needed.
