Hey, everybody.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but one of my bp boys, Nobody, is going in for surgery this morning. He was the very first snake we ever got and it took Jake 4 months to talk me in to getting him. He's such a sweet little guy.

He had been bit a few months back by a small rat we thought had completely been knocked down, but apparently hadn't. It nipped him on the chin and we've been battling on and off infections ever since. Now he's developed an abcess that is so compact, he actually needs to have it surgically removed.

Anyways, if you all could say a prayer or two and put in a good word for a little snake, it sure would be appreciated.

Thanks, everyone.

Thank you.
We find out at 3 pm how the surgery went. The poor little guy. He's had a history of bad sheds, he's too skinny and now he has a funky chin. He makes up for it in personality, though. He is the biggest love bug.

One of my hybrid king/milk snakes had an abcess removed from his side last year. No problem at all. Removing one from the chin may be a little more complicated, but I am confident that your snake will be fine after the surgery. I bet his appetite will pick up within a few weeks too.

Well, he made it through surgery fine. Dr. Landiss pulled out an abcess that had infiltrated inside his jaw line and was traveling towards his neck. And low and behold, in the middle of this mess was a tooth. Don't know how on earth it got there, but it explains why he wouldn't heal completely.
We get to bring him home tomorrow.

Thank you, everyone! :)

He's doing fine. He has a somewhat open wound on his chin we need to inject medicine into every night and he's going in to a really hard shed, so he looks like butt right now, but we expect a full recovery. I'll get some pictures up of the little guys soon.

Thank you!
He's definitely not going to be the most handsome snake on the block. Poor guy. I guess if Lyle Lovitt can get the pretty ladies, so can he, though.
