Not eating as much?

Hey guys!

I just had a quick question - My little leo Daisy is about 7 months old. Lately she's only been eating 1 mealworm a day. Is this normal? I believe she is shedding, and read somewhere that they eat less or not at all for a few days. She has been like this for I would say 3 days. She also doesn't appear to be sick or losing weight. Thank you! :)

It's normal to eat less for a variety of reasons, many of which probably apply to your gecko:
--some geckos do eat less around shedding time
--appetite goes down once the gecko gets to a certain size, and 7 months is about right (try feeding every other day if you're not doing that already)
--some geckos go into "winter mode" around this time of year and eat less (it doesn't seem to be as much a function of temperature as amount of light)
--some geckos get bored with mealworms

In addition, some female geckos eat less when they're ovulating, but she's a bit young for that and the breeding season is pretty much over.

Aliza pretty much covered everything. My geckos all tend to eat less starting in October. It is sometimes frustrating when they do not eat every day but we have to remember that these are reptiles and they can go without food longer than we can.

Alright, thank you for the information! I will start feeding her every other day.
