I would definitely say look for a new vet. The first vet I had taken Edna to was very gentle with her, while the second vet seemed rough. It really really upset me.

I have nothing else to add to this, though I wish I did :/

Wow- that would upset me too. I would likely take my animal and walk out. There is no reason to roughly handle a leopard gecko and possibly harm them. The closest one to us that is worth their salt is 50 miles, and it costs a small fortune. The one I prefer is 120 miles, I see him every couple months for whatever issues I may need help with, even if it's just information. He came highly recommended from a chameleon forum. If you know other reptile folks in your area, ask who they see. There's vets out there that will see reptiles but don't really keep up with different species, diagnoses, treatments. Best case scenario is a vet who keeps some kind of herps. At least they have some understanding beyond textbook cases. Hope Spots is doing better!

So Spots has taken her antibiotics and I've been giving her liquid supplements as well but her tail has seem to shrink...quickly. Any suggestions besides slurry? Something that I could buy preferably. (I just don't want to make slurry in my magic bullet lol)

Any suggestions on store bought slurry or anything i could buy to give to Spots to eat. She hasn't eaten in about a month but I have been giving her liquid calcium and liquid electrolytes and D3 because she doesn't seem to be drinking either so I wanted to make sure she got some vitamins. Her tail is skrinking...fast...She's about 52-57 grams for 2 years old. is that okay?

She hasn't pooped in over a week. What should I do, if I can do anything?

Antibiotics are not gentle on their system :( It also kills helpful bacteria in their bodies used in the digestion/waste process. There is a gecko soup recipe sticky at the top of this section that's very good. All the ingredients but the Hills A/d are available at walmart, your vet should have the pet food for a couple bucks.

If she isn't eating there will be very little if any poop. Her waste might only be fluid if that's all she is consuming.

How old is Spots?

She hasn't even had any fluid waste yet either. But thanks for the info about the antibiotics. I didn't know it would affect their digestive system.

And yea, I saw the soup but I wanted something I could just buy lol. I'm going to the vet next week to check up on Spots.

Lastly, she is 2 years old. 8 inches long. 52-57 grams.

If she is getting liquid supplements, does anyone know how much I should give to her? in oz. or CC

Another update...

Spots is getting worse. I hope she is not suffering. She has arthiritus in all her joints but at least I know it was not my fault. The vet said I could not really prevent it. She's on more serious antibiotics and liquid cat/dog food. (is that normal?)
She's still lathargic and pale (even though she already shed...) Good news is that in the past 2 weeks...she has not lost anymore weight...yay...?

Just thought I'd update you guys :) Send some luck this way :)

Have you tried crushing mealies and feeding it to her in a syringe. You can also try that with water. Anyways just wanted to give you some suggestions. Good luck hope spots feel s better : D

Well...
She passed away today. I went to give her her meds and she had passed. It was a tough 2-3 weeks but it came so sudden at the start so I don't really know what happened. One day we had a photoshoot and the next week she was pale and stopped being active. And she didn't have a thin tail like some of the others they get sick. Yesterday she started to get pale and was okay with turning upside down ..I knew it was coming but I thought maybe she's get better now that she was on medications. And she was only 2 years old :(

I don`t know if I`ll ever be ready for another one. I just don`t know what happened and if it was my fault. :(

RIP Spots. I love her so much :(

There are some pictures of her in my profile if anyone wants to see.

Thanks for all the help guys!

okay...thanks for everything but...this may sound crazy...

SO after about 3 hours of crying...I went back upstairs to check on Spots to get some closure and....she moved. Like I found her UPSIDE DOWN not moving this morning...and now she's right side up on the other side of the cage. It freaked me out so much that I'm going to wait until someone else can come over and check her out. She could have just twitched or something and moved into another spot to die? or she could be alive? I'm too afraid to check....They don't usually lay upside down......so what gives?

I'm really sorry with flooding you guys with questions. I hope I don't sound like an unqualified gecko owner but I've never seen her on her back and I didn't even know they could do that. She was definately not life-like at all this morning when she was upside down.

I don't know how much longer I can take this stress lol
