I picked up Whitey from the vet. He got fluids, and she suggested the same soaking treatment. She said that Whitey is very young less than a month and that I should try a slurry and see if I can get it eating. He is prolasped because of de hydration. He is drinking off damp paper towels now. I didn't know that they did that. She said if I can get him to eat just a little slurry that would help his chances greatly.

I'll keep everyone posted on progress. Thanks for the help and kind words.

Great to hear that. Marcia's slurry is in the Health and Medication forum if you haven't already seen it. I believe it is a sticky post. Apparently it works wonders! Give it a try.

I'm glad Whitey is alright!! Definitely give Marcia's slurry a try. He's been through a lot already so he's going to need the food!

Last night, I made the slurry and Whitey loved it. :D Ate so much he fell asleep in my husbands hand....so cute! Whitey looks so much better. His body looks more filled out, and seems to be more active. This morning he pooped. :D I checked for prolapse and it looked normal. He weighs 4.3 grams.
I'm going to continue with the slurry for a couple more days and then start to offer some crickets and mealies. How long should it continue the sugar water soaks for?

Thats great to hear! I hope you don't have any more problems with that little one. Gonna have to wait for someone else for an answer to the soak question, though.

Whitey has been eating the slurry for four days now. He/She has been really active and pooping regularly. I really think Whitey is going to make it.
When do they have thier first shed? Last night Whitey looked really chalky and this morning was in the humid hide. From what the vet said I think he/she is around 4-5 weeks old.
