...has high-speed internet.

people should consider the poor folks who have to deal w/ images actually taking time to load, and size their pictures smaller.

56k... not. cool.

I had low speed Internet (dial up)for years and I just patiently waited until the images loaded

If I really wanted to see it-I figured that it was worth waiting for

Also- broadband has gotten very cheap-especially with introductory offers and bundles from cable companies etc. and it is not much more than dial-up in price

Sorry if the services aren't available in your area

just my -.02

PS-I know that I am guilty of posting big pics

AHH! I remember when I had dial up! It took so long that I really didn't want to use the internet! (seriously who doesn't?), but now I have comcast high speed internet + their digital cable and we don't pay that much with that bundle.
In my opinion for dial up you shouldn't be paying more that $15 a month because that's how much some DSL companies charge for their basic plan(at&t?). you should look into it there is some very good deals out there :)

I always wonder how long it takes my photos to load for people with dial up. I think the extra $30 tacked on to our cable bill is sooooo worth the fast internet speed.

I wonder if there is a forum addon that can alert users who choose to that the post has over x amount of kbs and may be a large load.

Just an idea.

i normally post DUW to warn people with dial-up because i live in an an area that if you live much more than 2 miles out of town you can't get broadband in anyway and satellite is still cost prohibitive and unreliable unless you cut half of the forest down to get a free line of site to the satellite all the time.
(while I'm getting ready to watch Motley Crue LIVE on WiFi on my laptop in my bedroom on my WiFi connection to the local provider! :) )
