Hey I was just wondering if it was normal that my Hovabator 1602N doesn't feel warm to me when I place my hand in there ..
I'm using a digital thermometer probe and it's measuring at around 82-83F
right in the middle, but when I place my hand in there ..it doesn't feel warm to me? It's not COLD but I thought I was suppose to feel warm air or something.
Should I stick the prob inside the the deli cup? or just inside the incubator is okay?

Also ..my house is REALLY COLD ... and I'm not sure how bad it's going to affect the incubator when I didn't have it on ..it was at like 52F ....
but I have it sitting in my closet now ( prob the warmest place in my house ) and turned it on and it's at like I said 82-83 ..what can I do to make sure the temps don't fall ..I do have it to a zoomed thermostat.

Think of it this way. Your internal body heat is around 97-98 degrees. You are touching something in the low 80s. Naturally, it will feel cooler, even if it is warm. I would trust your thermometer.

i put my probe in the actual cup/container with the eggs. if the ambient air temp in that room is near 80, you probably won't be able to tell the difference in temp. and remember, your body temp is 98.6 normally so the feeling of warmth is relative.

Put the probe inside the deli cup for a day or two and record the temperature. You always want to do inside the deli cup because thats where the eggs will be. Make sure the inside of the deli cup is around 83 for males.

Incorrect. Actually 83F is going to produce females. 87-90F is going to produce males.
