Okay, I put a female in with one of my males on 5/2. I keep her in there, as they get along pretty well, so I figured it can't hurt. Well I still don't see eggs in her, she wasn't ovulating when I put her in, but shouldn't she be now. Aren’t males supposed to make females ovulate? I bred females on 5/18 who have laid clutches already. What causes thing like this. And oh yeah, they are both proven breeders.

They only ovulate when they're ready. I've heard that putting a male and female together will help get a female to start ovulating although we've never tried it. It could also be that having the male in with her is stressing her out and causing her not to ovulate. We just use the be patient and wait method. lol
