Not Really Sure.

K so i got a leopard gecko this summer first one. So of course thru study and reading over time ive been improving the conditions to get as close to perfect as possible. recently my sweet baby francine shed which from what i could tell wasent a very easy shed for her even with a humid hide. right before the shed pulled away she started to close her eyes and stop eating, only opening her eyes after a warm bath. after the shed was all off she went right into another shed still keeping her eyes closed for the most part, she hasent eatn accept her shed she just pooped the other day which i take as good news cuz it looks normal. i guess my question is, is it normal to for a gecko to close their eyes during a shed. and to go into another shed within 2 days of their last one.

Its tangarine not albino
20gal tank
undertank heat pad
red heat bulb
3 hides 1 on cool end which is 75-80ish one in middle closer to warm side
and humid hide right on heat pad on warm side 85-90ish
i had ceramic tile i just took out when i noticed her eyes closed and swtiched to paper towel and i went and got a reptile mat to replace it when all is said & done.

The quickest I've seen mine go into shed again has been just under a week. I really don't have any advice, but I hope someone else can help.

hmmm i mean they can do it but it's not normal. i wonder if she had a couple of layers of shed or for some reason a thicker than normal shed. if for whatever reason it was thicker than normal i would imagine the gecko could want to close it eyes or for some reason there could be some dry shed near its eye that is bothering him. i do not know what to say. make sure the humidity and temps are up i would go 95 as a high temp maybe even to 98, cool side is good though. for right now until she gets this shed over you might want to keep the humidity in the enclosure higher than normal. is she eating at all? do you have lights on the enclosure?

ok ok to add to the oddness shes now got the side boobs which she never had b4 but she hasent eatn ne thing but skin for weeks. im gonna try giving her a nice warm bath for about half hour tonight. i havent handled her in couple days tring to keep her stress down.

robin right b4 the skin started to come off on the first shed she stopped eatn ne thing but the shed. only light on the tank is the red heat bulbs and sun light but not direct just what makes its way thru the house. and some times light from the tv we barely use.

im kinda new to this whole thing i got her in like aug i wanna say. and well ive been reading and reading tring to absorb this whole thing but when i noticed that all the pics i seen of geckos shedding their eyes were open i of course went into new dad mode.

have you noticed if she has lost any weight? is she opening her eyes at all?

ive never weighed her b4 and their closed accept after a warm bath. one eye looks a tiny bit blur'd but no discolor or discharge. ugh im so hoping its just a couple layers of skin around the eyes

Perhaps she could be getting an eye infection? You said she isnt albino, so I doubt that she has light sensitivity. I would get her eyes checked. Just my opinion.

well i got some good news after that half hour bath i was able to pull softly basicly her whole head shed and her eyes opened right up i gave her a drop in each eye of a saline salution refilled her food dish and now ill wait =)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!! i just snuck up to the entrance way of the room shes in and shes eating outa the dish!!! yes!! im so excited see this is my first baby girl and id really like to get me a male some day not too breed or ne thing but if i failed with her i dont deserve to take care of ne life form.
