A little while ago (maybe about 2 weeks ago) my hubby came down one morning to find Sage in with the male on the other side. Now the male was cowering on the other side of the tank when he found them, so not sure if they had mated or not. Recently I've noticed she's been getting alot bigger and can't quite tell if it's eggs or if she's just packing on the weight from eatting so well.

Her eatting habits haven't changed, she's actually been eatting less and I haven't found her gobbeling up her calcium like Adinar did when she was gravid.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, she keeps squirming like crazy whenever I try and look. I'll try and take a few with a flashlight or something to her back. Maybe that'll help.

Either way we did put a lay box in her tub just in case. She's been hanging out in it playing... of course throwing peralite everywhere. lol

How low ago do you suspect they mated? My female mated 3 days ago and she too looks bloated, has white specs forming under her stomach and is more squirmish than normal.

Maybe 2 weeks ago? She somehow managed to climb the divider of the 20 gallon tank her and the male were in, they've since been put into tub in a rack so have had no contact (if they even did before) since.

First, are you wanting her to lay eggs? :main_yes:Was that a yes?
If so.....put her back in with him and watch.
Kind of a little late since 2 weeks have gone by but
they may still breed. If they do, she was not bred or not bred well enough.
I continue to put my females
with my males every 2 days after a breeding until
she tells him no.
Then I feel it's completed.
IMO from the photos she was bred.
I would be checking for eggs any time now.
But I would still see what she says about it.
Take care. HJ

Yes, we weren't planning on breeding her until next year. She was the one who decided to be a ninja and end up on his side. lol. But at any rate, just need to fire up the incubator again if needed.

Yup, she was gravid... I don't think the eggs look all that good, they're pretty soft. I popped them in the incubator regardless.

Yay for her first clutch!
