So, I've had my leo 2 weeks, he's still pretty young and small. I recently got mealworms for him to eat, but didn't think to get small or mini ones. I noticed today that an undigested bit of mealworm was in his stool... is that bad?

Thanks!

Matt

It could've been regurgitation, but it was right next to his stool, in his usual bathroom spot... but i guess it's really nothing to worry about?

Well your original post didnt say it was regurgitation. You mentioned it was in his feces. If it was regurgitated than thats a different story. If that persisits there is a problem with that.Regurgitation is linked with the prey being too big but I dont think that was the problem because you said it was a meal worm correct.

Yeah, they're average sized mealworms. He's eaten about 15 of them and the only thing ive noticed the last few days is that he spends a lot more time than usual in the warm hide. That little piece of worm is the only sign of anything that could possibly be wrong, but its not very big, and could easily be passed with feces. I was just wondering if it was a bad sign that it wasn't digested.

What are your temps? Undigested food in poo can be due to your temps not being high enough to properly digest the meal. Move your probe around in different spots to be sure your running the correct temp in a few different spots. Did he eat 15 at once or all together?

he is spending more time in the warm hide because he is trying to digest a large meal. If your temps are closer to 90 or below he's not going to beable to fully digest a meal like that. 95 would be a better temp.

Underneath his warm hide, the temperature generally stays between 92 and 95 degrees. At night it can drop to 88-89 degrees. The cool side is at room temp., generally between 72 and 75 degrees.

He ate about 15 over the course of about 3 days.
