Ugh. I live in NYC and I live in the projects I guess you'd call them. Anyway January 31st their new pet regulations go into effect. They changed the weight restriction from 40lbs to a mere 25lbs and put a ban on Pitbull's, Rotti's and Doberman's (What a bunch of jerks) and all cats and dogs must be fixed. People that have these animals NOW have the ability until the 31st to register their animal with NYCHA and pay $25 or they risk being evicted.
Anyway when I got the notice I kind of through it in the garbage because my dog is 12lbs, was already registered 4 years ago NYCHA, licensed by the state of New York, spayed and is fully vaccinated every year. On Tuesday I believe it was I got a letter stating that we were in "Breach of Contract" and our lease could be terminated. On Wednesday my mom ran to the office like what the heck is this!? What terms of the contract am I breaking? The man told her that she had a dog that wasn't registered. Of course my mom was confused because she had done this years ago and wasn't going to pay another $25 for them misplacing the paper work. My mom ran home found ALL the copies we had taken (she even had a copy of the money order she handed in) the man agreed and told us that he just needed an updated rabies vaccination since it was my moms day off she came back home and handed in a copy of her vaccination certificate.
Later that day I received ANOTHER later stating that I have to go to an appointment on Friday because I was in "Breach Of Contract" now I'm really confused like we just settled this issue why are you sending me another letter. Since I have Fridays off and my mom works I went instead with my dogs entire medical folder in hand and every single piece of paper and tag that dealt with my dog. I met with the building assistant or whatever he was suppose to be showed him ALL the papers, tags, etc. and he made copies and sad he was sorry that maybe the paper had fallen out of the folder, sure! I walked away thinking everything was fine. The only thing that I didn't have was an updated license since we missed the deadline but I showed him the old one and the application I was going to send out to renew the other one and told him I would bring it in as soon as I received it. He said that would be fine and I shouldn't be bothered anymore.
Friday night comes I get ANOTHER letter under my door stating that I NEVER showed up to the meeting and if I don't see anyone buy Wednesday eviction proceedings will being and my lease will be terminated, are you kidding me!???
So now Monday I'm going to wake up up nice and early and raise hell! Because obviously following the rules, being nice and polite don't seem to get anything done. Like what kind of idiots work there!? I have a better system filing homework then these people do. They have now 3 copies of the SAME papers and none of them seem to be in the folder, I saw the woman as she wrote my name on the list with my address but then again I was never there! What kind of crap is this? I'm so irritated right now it's ridiculous. Monday I have class at 5pm and have to leave me house around 3pm and get home around 11-11:30pm so I'd like to get my rest in the morning but obviously I won't be able to do that because I have to be up at 8:30am trying to rectify an issue that was never there to begin with.
