I think we ALL need a vacation somewhere warm and tropical. Ahhhh... I can hear the trade winds in the coconut trees, the waves breaking on the coral reef just off the lagoon, and the slurping sound coming from the Mai Tai I'm drinking (with a pink paper umbrella in it!)

ahh... so you went with the pink umbrella, eh? I kind of expected you to call dibs on the yellow one. I'm not exactly sure which color I'd go with. Decisions, decisions... Usually I'm partial to the green ones, but they're a little harder to find it seems. When they're out of green ones, I'll usually go with blue unless they have some unique colors like orange or white. Once in a while when I'm feeling a bit daring I'll just let them surprise me. I try not to let that happen too often though, because sometimes I'll just think I want a surprise, but then when my drink shows up with a certain umbrella, I feel utterly disappointed.

Where in from you developer thick blood! You guys and gals in Florida have thin blood! lol

I remember one year in Chicago (where i lived) it hit -80 with the wind chill. I remember not many cars started, and no one was outside. Within seconds any exposed skin froze and started stinging like crazy.:main_thumbsdown:

Yup-I'm from Chi Town originally too but I believe that i was living in Denver when Chicago had that really cold winter

Ain't the weather here just wonderful lately?
I'm in Central IL in Watseka

My bf has been home from work (he drives a cab in the South Chicago Suburbs) for 2 days because he can't get to I 57 via RR 17 and RR 1

The weather is 11 for the high today with a wind chill of -4 right now so they can't use salt on the blowing and drifting snow
Then there's black ice under that

I am very thankful that the furnace is running just fine (I am also using 2 electric heaters for additional heat) and that we have electric
There is an area south of me around Champaign that has a power outage from wires being down from strong winds
So-It could be worse here.......

I have had the Police Scanner on for the past two days and all we are hearing is accidents-roll overs and cars abandoned in ditches
I love winter-NOT
BUT-believe it or not it is supposed to be in the 50's here by Friday-Come on HEAT WAVE !!

I am definitely moving to New Mexico or Arizona in the next few years if it is feasible

I am way too old for this stuff !!

:main_yes:

PS-pass the Mai Tai's
I'd like a blue umbrella please
:D

I have chills again so I'm sitting in a room that's ~80 and still freezeing.

It is now 4 degrees here, and according to Weather.com, it feels like -12 degrees, yes that's right NEGATIVE 12! And they are right, my car almost didn't start this morning it was so cold.
