Wow, i feel like a complete idiot. It turns out my tremper albino Tweek, that i thought was a female, is a male. Earlier today i thought i saw hemipenal bumps, so i was going to check tomorrow because i need to clean out their tank. Well, to my surprise, i catch Tweek and Goblin getting it on. I grabed my camera and took a couple shots, though heres one of Tweek after:

I feel like the most irresponsible person ever right now. I should have checked sooner. When i first received Tweek from a nearby Petco, she told me that Tweek was a female. I cannot beleive that i took her word on it after finding out how uneducated Petco employees are.

Now, heres what i'm planning to do. I'll put a moss hide into the cage so when the time comes, she can lay the eggs. Thats where i get stuck... i have no idea what incubator to buy. Im completely broke, so i need the cheapest incubator, but that'll still work well. I'm going to buy a hova bator incubator from LLL Reptile that comes with a bag of vermiculite also.

Now, for the questions:

Can the Hova Bator control the temperature inside, or do i need a thermostat?

Also, if i do need a thermostat or whatever controls the temperature, does anybody have a suggestion to a relatively cheap but decent working one??

any other questions will be posted

Thanks for the help guys, seriously

the hovabator is great for the price. it will most likey do the job you need, although it can have temp swings if the room temperature changes to much (it works like a dimmer knob). mine goes from 80-86, so i am going to turn the heat up all the way on it, and run it through a ranco thermostat ($55), because that will keep it within 2 degrees. that way when the ranco tells the incubator to turn on, it will, thinking it needs to get the temp way up there, but the ranco will turn it off when it only goes up one degree. this way i can be better suited for temp-sexing my eggs.

other than that, if/when she lays, i would candle the eggs after a week or two to make sure they are fertilized, and if so, just get a few small cages ready for your newborns.

Oh Joy! Get the hovabator and put it in the most temp stable room in the house, usually a closet that's not against an outside wall will do great.

Good Luck!
