The hatchrite goes into the deli cups(Not sure how you prepare hatchrite, jsut read the instructions). Then the eggs go into the cups, then the lid. Also, make sure you have a digital thermometer w/ probe to place into the cup aswell, to make sure you have accurate temps.

Hatch-Rite is simple. Just put in a sealed container, no holes, and it keeps humidity itself. No need to add water. I didn't have good luck with it last year, but I'm trying a few deli cups with it this year. I had several cups get too much humidity.

Generally there's no instructions with the Hatch-Rite. It's on the bag.

I'm using it for the first time, (the hatch rite) & I am getting the opposite reaction. My eggs seem to be dry, and denting slightly, so I am having to add a damp paper towel to add some moisture.

The bag could have been dry when you got it. Make sure to keep it zipped in between use. Last year I had a few cups get too humid. This year I haven't had any problems. I did have to move one egg to vermiculite; it was with another egg- both fertile- and 1 was dehydrating where the other wasn't.

Put water in a deli cup and leave it in the incubator. You could do water under the tray, although I've never tried it. I like leaving it in an open cup or container.
