Sorry to bring this topic up again but I was following it quite close as I'm in a similar position as the original poster. I have two new females in the same cage and one is eating like a pig and the other has eaten maybe five crickets in the 30 days I've had them. The slow eater has gone through three phases. When I first got her it was "totally ignore the crickets". Almost like they didn't exist. Then it was half hearted strikes that usually missed. She could see the food and showed a little interest but only the odd cricket. Then she went back into the ignore phase where we thought she was blind. Now she's showing a little interest again.
No indications of aggresive behaviour from either gecko and the temps are bang on.
Last night the tables turned and the pig ate one cricket and the slow eater ate two large crickets.
My question is...
Is this normal during this time of the year? I thought I was in trouble after 30 days but I'm hearing that some leos go two months and come out just fine. My slow eater actually gained 6 grams while on her hunger strike. What's up with that?
I'm guessing ovulation, egg production, egg reabsorbtion and recovery? Both females are about nine months old.
My avatar is a picture of the slow eater...she looks thinner than she actually is as she's hanging upside down in that picture...
