I have a male gecko. He likes to go through not eating binges i usually just deal and he finally goes back to food. This time hes starting to really worry me. Hes rail thin now with NO fat on tail and still no interest in food. I tried force feeding him roaches but he manages to wiggle his way out of eating them. I tried turning them into a slurry but they plug up the syringe. At this point im tempted to just put him back in with his GF because he seems to eat a little when hes not trying to mate. That was reason i removed him to let girl have some alone time. What would you guys do?

i do find that my male gets a bit depressed when i take him away from the girls but as u said he dose pick up after a while. i season my geckos and they have stopped breeding for the moment, which means i can leave them together untill the spring quite happily.

have you tried offering him more tasty treats like waxies? i know their bad for them in large amounts but its better for a short time than not eating atall.
make up a slurry mix of a few crickets, waxies and meal worms with a lil calcium and syringe it to him. it did wonders for my runt hatchlings this year.
ull have to do only a few at a time and tap the shells out inbetween squashing :S lol

I wouldn't put a gecko with a thin tail together with a gecko with a thick tail. You might end up with two geckos with thin tails.

Pictures, description of tank set-up, temperatures, etc would be helpful. Has a fecal test been done to rule out parasites? Impaction could be another issue. Please provide more information so that we can build a more informed consensus.*
