my giant mealworms not only:

a) turned into pupae

and

b) turned into beetles

BUT

c) reproduced!

i now have baby giant mealworms... i would take a pic, but my macro isnt that powerful...

i do, however, have pics of the giant beetles that produced the giant mealworms compared to my normal mealworm beetles:

any explanation?

I dont believe giant mealworms is a genetic thing. I hear theyre treated with hormones to help them grow more during the worm stage, and thats why they shouldnt be used as feeders.

i know that, i just thought that the hormone made them sterile if they ever reached the beetle stage, thats why im wondering whats goin on

no they are not sterile we use giant mealworms/super worms with our BD at college and we have loads of huge beetles that we put the the colony and they mate and reproduce like normal but there worms are no larger than normal
