It looks like that Leo has cryptosporidiosis and a pretty advanced case....DO NOT try to rescue this leo because if thats the case they rarely suvive if its not caught early enough and can be transmitted to humans....

Why shouldn't she try to rescue it?

I would call aspca...not just let it die

lyndsey, she shouldnt because well it could infect not only the herps she has already but also herself if it is the parasitic infection i mentioned...why take the risk? its a big risk to take and that infection rarely responds to treatment...you should go look at the link i posted :)

I'm thinking you should take it to go put it down humanely. That leo looks waaaaayyyy past saving. I can't even imagine how that gecko is feeling. That is terrible...

She thinks it should look like that??? That would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I would find out all the info on her I could, get many details name, address if you can etc. and at least report her sorry A$$.

That is one of most sad things I've seen :(

Could it be sand impaction and not crypto? I didn't see the stool on the picture. Just a thought and then maybe it would be worth trying to save?

Even, if by some miracle, it did survive - it will loose both hind feet completely. Check them out...they're totally black from the ankle down. I wouldn't believe for a second this person thought it should look like that!

Maybe I'm worng and don't have all the facts, but diagnoseing with crypto based on no facts is a little premature IMO. I'd want to know how much it's eating. I've seen a lot of geckos from ignorant people who were basically being fed "starvation diets". If that were the case or say this was pinworms the gecko would be savagable unless organ failure was happening.

I was going to say thattoo, but people here do have alot of experience. Also about in[paction, it would have a fatter belly if that was the case
