Omg I feel horrible!!

Tonight when I picked up my geckos hide it slipped out of my hand and smashed the tip of my male geckos tail! I feel so horrible and can only imagine that he is in pain. The tip is twirling around as I imagine the nerves are dying? It's horrible to watch knowing accidentally did this to this beautiful animal. The tail is still attached but What does this mean? Will it die and fall off or will he loose control over it now?

he may lose the end of his tail or he may not but he most likely is not in pain.

JThe tail tip is doing that because had it been a clean break the tail is made to twitch to keep a predators attention while the gecko makes its escape! Just let him be...I agree with Robin the tail tip will probably fall off. Just keep and eye on it and don't handle your leo too much in the coming days. And don't feel too bad, I think this is like the 8th or 9th post like this. i myself have had a few near misses and accidents do happen.

That sucks but don't beat yourself up over it, I moved around the live rock once in my aquarium, and by the next day it fell and killed a show quality fish. Accidents happen
