I went to check on my leos last night only to find one of my PA hatchling is not in his tub. So I look around a bit but don't see him. By now this is all sinking in i'm looking for a hatchling in a messy bedroom in an old house. This thing could be anywhere and my floor is carpet so no flour for this hunt:sad3:. I have tured the room upside down as much as I can before work at 9:00 and nothing. In closing this sucks and I just got him too so any advice ya'll have would be nice. :help:

No it was in a temp spot on a heat mat in its tub but I found that the top was kinda open not enough to notice if you just look but enough for a explorative gecko to push through (and they got some strong necks my male can get outta anything with a small opening). What really sucks is I'll be going to work in an hour and won't be able to look all day oh and did I mention my GF has 3 cats in the house. Luckly they aren't allowed in her room but if he gets outta here then it's good as gone. What I need to do is empty the room piece by piece cause the space under the door is too tight for it to crawl under (I think). My GF will clean the room today and i'll tear it apart tonight hopefully it gets some of them loose crickets.

Unfortunately, they're hard to find when you're really looking for them. We tuned our house upside down for 2 days once only to find ours behind a tub on the shelf above hers. She hadn't gone very far! Another breeder had suggested to me that I leave a humid hide on a heat mat in the middle of the room at night . Good luck finding her.

I had my Male Hybino het RAPTOR escape out of a holding tub while I was cleaning his cage. I found him under my computer. My advise is to check all the spots that give off heat.

Best of luck with finding your hatchling.

Also don't be too energetic about looking. Mine got loose once and I almost sent her flying across the room as she was under a blanket that I was about to fling. Fortunately I saw her in time! Good luck on finding that gecko.

I had lost one of my girls when I was getting my girls ready in the morning. I had the tank in my girls' room and I put her in a large bowl to soak while I got them dressed. about 10 minutes later I checked and didnt see her so being forgetful that I am figured I must've already put her back and didnt remember. I got home and went to check on her and she wasnt there!!! so then i remembered that noooo I didnt put her back. I was gone 6 hours so I was freaking thinking of allll the places she could be. Turns out she was less than 10 ft away under my daughters crib....They do turn up..LOL

I thought my gecko escaped from it"s terriarium. But it was hiding in it"s log. I spent an hour tearing my room apart to find it. My gecko"s name is snide.
