okay i had my gecko out called speedy loves to come out as soon as my hand goes in the tank she would climb me.

well i was sat on a chair (quite big) and was offering mealworms and my sister (19) come running down the stairs sees the mealworms freaks out and scare's speedy and she goes nuts almost lost her over the arm of the chair i stoped her and tryed to calm her by not touching her and letting her chill but as soon as i went to pick her up to take her back to her tank she would not go on my hand i had to put her into a box like hamster toy.

she has not droped her tail thank god but could she ?

will she go off her food again ?

will she ever trust me again ?

i have never been so scared in my life and so angry at the same time

If she hasn't dropped her tail, she shouldn't. I have read about a gecko nearly dropping it's tail, where it just slightly detached (it got all hard and was about to drop fully), but the gecko didn't drop it. If they are going to drop their tails, they do it instantly.

I wouldn't think that she would go off of her food again, she was just startled for a moment and should be just fine. I am sure if you tried to feed her right now, she wouldn't eat, but she should be eating by later today.

Yes, she will trust you again, these things happen.

You can offer food tonight, she should be fine by then.

Good luck! Thank goodness she didn't drop her tail!

Could she yes but will she not likely at some point in time all 4 of mine have been starteled or scared one even to a point that he bailed and got under my couch and one jumped out of my hand to the floor about a 3ft drop and none of mine have dropped a tail.

will she go off her food again ?
once she gets in her tank for a bit she will calm down and shouldn't have any problems.

will she ever trust me again ?
Yes even though she got scared she still knows your scent and doesn't relate it to danger just make sure you don't grab at her let her come to you.

As for your sis maybe let her know before hand you are getting out mealies and tell her they won't hurt her my 5 yr old niece feeds mealies to one of mine by hand.

LOL!! No! it takes ALOT more than that to make them loose their tail!

Dont worry. Your leo just got spooked but will be right back to normal soon :main_yes:
When stuff like that happens, just put them back in their home and walk away to let them calm down. Unless your leo is still acclimating, she will probably have forgotten about it by dinner time!! :main_thumbsup:

And SCOLD your Sister and tell her to NEVER do that again!!
