My first though? He ONLY lost his tail ONCE!? I guess that IS a plus, isn't it? This really ticks me off.. I bought geckos in this condition once because I did not know they were so sickly. I won an auction for 1.2 blizzards, money going to a sick little girl. I ended up getting geckos that barely held on to life for a month.

You'd have to pay me to take those into my collection. I do feel sorry for them, but the risk you put yourself and your collection at when you bring them into your home is a heavy one.

I will not take these guys in. I spent over 250 on a vet bill back in feb three ofmy geckos had a parasite. And I don't want to go threw that again. But that kind of things do piss me off. My mouth dropped when I saw those. If I knew what I know now and I didn't have about 12 other geckos I would totally get them and take care of them, but I am not willing to risk my geckos lifes for two geckos that aren't my fault that they are sick!

Those geckos look like they are on their death bed. I wouldn't buy'em either.

Remember, friends don't let friends buy sick geckos. (sorry I'm a little corny) :main_rolleyes:

Don't let anyone buy them! If you care about your other geckos!

Hi All, Those geckos look like two I got as a rescue at the Havre de Grace MD show. I do animal rescue of all kinds, Wild, exotic, Farm and domestic. I have had them a week and a half. I just got the report back from the Vet and its Cryto so they will be put down but before they are, I am going to take their picture to show you how bad they went down fast. It will be placed in the health section. They had plenty of food of all kinds, slurry and we were trying to force feed( a very hard chore on very small geckos) until I recieved the call. They looked just like those two when I got them, today they are skin and bones. One we had a little more hope for because she was eating and staying closer to the low weight she was. But with crypto there really is no help for these poor babies, and the risk of bringing it into your collection is not worth it. If you knew the history of these geckos because they came from a friend and were just underfed or Parasites, then they might be fixable. I am so sorry to say the above because I do take creatures in on their last leg even if they will be put to sleep. But for the novice, Critical care of exotics/reptiles is not easy even with experience and for the novice, its not worth it. But on the iguana that we also got that day from a man who saved him/her( I need to check) from the Animal Shelter, she is almost ready to go to her new home. She /He was hand fed and now eats out of the bowl and is just beautiful! So I do have good stories to tell as well. I do feel bad for these two, they do not deserve what is happening to them. Some people need to learn what it feels like to waste away, organs fail and die!!!!!!! Sorry to be so blunt!!!! Deb

I have gottan a few and they were very healthy. I got one last december who is my breeding male. 3 years old. and has fathered all of my babies. He is very healthy. And he was given to me because the lady was going to school to be a teacher and he wasn't getting any attention!

I just winced seeing the poor things. I wouldn't get them either unless you can quarantine effectively and have some $ stored up for at least 1 vet visit (but probably more).

Why in the world would someone buy any animals on Craig's list...is what I am thinking....

I got Fleck from a couple on craigslist. As long as you can see the animal beforehand and have vet records, I see no problem with it. I'd rather adopt an animal in need then from a BYB or a pet store

Anyway, that is really sad :(
