I didn't know if he was going to make it when we first got him! He didn't eat for about five days and was just SOOOO small. Skinny tail, about 2" long. I don't know how old he was, but I assume a week or two old?
Well he started eating soon after and he's been an eating machine every since.
It's only been a month since we've had him/her, but he (since I don't know how/when to detect gender yet) is about 6" long now! Tail is fattening up nicely.
He's also shed his skin several times now, it seems like it's every 2 weeks - is that normal? The first time it happened I noticed it early evening and planned on taking pictures later that night - WELL I didn't realize how fast it took. He had already shed it all a few hours later.
I did manage to get some pictures of him in his "milky" white skin during the last "molting" stage.
Quick question...approx. how old does he look to be? At about 6" long? I assume if he was about 2 weeks old when we got him, he'd be getting close to 2 mo. old now?
And when do they get their spots? He has no hints of spots yet, just his bands of color.
I've attached his picture of when we first got him, and two pictures of him before shedding (the second picture my son is holding him to show a size reference), and the last picture is after the first shedding that we noticed...so about 2 weeks ago.
