I love breeding, but I hate it when a baby doesn't make it. I had an egg start to hatch last night. It did the sweating, then a small break with the dents. I went to get the baby this am and it never came out. I opened the egg to find a fully developed baby that died. I could see nothing wrong with it and she was soooo pretty. It never gets easier when that happens.

I'm down to 2 eggs now and I really hope they hatch with no issues.

I'm so sorry, Kristi. It's always hard to lose a gecko, but especially one that looks perfect from the outside that doesn't make it from the egg.

Thank you. This egg was much bigger than the clutchmate's egg. I thought the smaller one might not hatch, but I expected the bigger one to be fine. Hopefully the smaller egg hatches soon. I'm going to be a bit stressed while waiting. My last egg isn't due for another week and a half.

I'm sorry. There really is a down side to breeding geckos, that this has to be one of the most heartbreaking situations. Let's hope the clutchmate makes it and thrives!

Thanks! It's looking like the clutchmate might not hatch either. I've never had one go past day 54 and today is day 55. I'll be leaving the egg in there anyways until it gets yucky.

I only have one good egg left in the incubator. I really hope it hatches in about 10 days. So far, it looks good and has recently grown.

It is hard when that happens. It has happened to me just once, a egg started to hatch, and didn't finish. When I opened it up, it had deceased raptor twins in it.
