cosmo laid one egg today but i can still see the other one inside her and its been like 6 hours since she laid the first one, is there a reason she is keeping the second egg inside her?

Sometimes they will only lay one egg. It's totally normal.

I have a single egg clutch due any day now that weighed as much as two eggs and I'm really hoping it's twins! That is very rare though so don't suspect twins just because it was a single egg clutch.

Of my 6 females who are laying, I have gotten a lot of one egg clutches. Of the 17 clutches we have gotten, 9 of them have been 1 egg clutches. All 5 of our Reverse Stripe's clutches have been 1 egg. I don't think it's anything to really be worried about it. I've heard it takes the females time to get the hang of it.

The egg that you saw in her, was it as big as the one she laid? and do you have a picture?

I have 2 geckos that have done this 2 me. The first female I was worried about as it was, seemed like she held onto her eggs for way longer than she should have, and then she laid 1 egg. She waited almost 5 days! and then laid the second. I have a gecko now that laid 1 egg, but the other egg is clearly visible inside of her, she is also a first year breeder and seems like she could have laid the first egg prematurely, it was small, and went bad, maybe she is holding the second one longer because she knows she messed up with the first? Im not sure. Check her out again and see if you can still see the second egg in her, remember you might actully have to slightly bend her body backwards to be able to see it clearly

My Aaliyah is pulling single egg clutches this season...screwy girl that she is. She's due any day for another clutch and I have 3 eggs from her...all laid seperately, it does make this month go by faster though LOL, they were 13 and 16 days apart. Her first egg is due any day now. I can't complain, they've all been fertile and Aaliyah is showing no ill signs from it.
