So I have a particular hatchling this year that is baffling me and just wanted some advice or comments.

So this guy is starting to look like a W&Y but its not. I cant bring myself to call it anything more than a hypo, but the look is pretty cool. I do of work with Pacific Greens/Emerines, but the green on this guys spots blows anything else I have seen out of the water.

Anyways, parents are Reverse Stripe Tang het RAPTOR x Sunglow RAPTOR (both produced by me). Eyes are normal, no eclipse showing. Any ideas or something I am missing?

I think it's a really nice looking superhypo stripe. I have a couple of hatchlings that are a really pretty creamy yellow color like that one and I find it really attractive.

since it was born with blotches instead of bands, its definitely an enigma (100% sure)

by the looks of it, its a tangerine enigma, but if that stripe does develop, then i'd say reverse strip tangerine enigma.

If neither parent is an enigma than this one can't be an enigma. I think the blotches look more like a partial reverse stripe which would make more sense since one of the parents is a reverse stripe and they both have the RAPTOR genes which includes reverse stripe.

Yeah I agree that it looks like a partial stripe or some sort of funky pattern that comes from the stripes being mixed. I don't see any enigma influence.

Actually, I didn't list the mother as being enigma because (to me) she hasn't proved out to be, but her mother was an enigma...so it is possible that Enigma is in play. If so this hatchling (or any of the others from the same pairing) aren't showing any of the traits I tend to see enigmas have; no enigma syndrome whatsoever, no solid white tail, no orange or any color in the eyes (gray)...but the patterns sure are enhanced....on this and other hatchlings I have gotten from the mother.
