I wanted to get opinions from all of you about the most recent of threads from 420geckos.

I do not think that I said anything that was out of line and more so it had to be said. I tried to make a point without making him cry.
However I would like to hear from all of you.

Even I'm getting sick of the BSB threads..and they never really bothered me all that much. That baby is a very pretty bell baby, but enough is enough.

SOMEONE had to say something, and I'm glad you did. He went over the line by saying it "pretty much" proves he can make enigmas. What a crock of shit. You know exactly what he ment when he wrote that....not the "I didn't say that ..." several pages later.

Jeremy, I'm with you on your thinking. However I think this is a forum divided. He has sooooo many noobs eating ever drip of crap that falls from his mouth. The vets here either bite their tongue or say it how it is. The newer members don't understand and think you're being harsh...or else they're one of his many followers. Lets face he basically accounts for 50% of all the posts here, it's impossible to not get sucked in for the good or bad.

I don't know. I know the kid is excited, but if you keep over thinking you're going to start imagining things that aren't there. I think he really needed this, but to be honest I know nothing will really change. The few people that posted in his favor is all that he needs to keep going.

I wouldn't sweat it.

EDIT: I forgot some things. Honestly, he was called out and he really crumbled and gave himself away with many of his comments. The pretty much dictionary thing was so stupid...and the comment about donating the money to a good cause. Call me crazy, but who just says that. It sounds to me like he got caught and he's trying to look good. AND, the biggest and, I forgot to mention...how did he not take photos??? All he does is take photos, I don't believe for a second that he didn't or couldn't take photos. We get weekly updates on every gecko in his collection.

I'm with you though Shanti. It's getting REALLY old, but it really doesn't bug me a ton. What are you going to do I guess, he is who he is.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I think it's something that needed to be said ... but someone with a pet gecko or two that just joined the forum and isn't familiar with the morphs (especially what they looked like in the beginning) isn't going to understand. All you can do is hope to prevent someone from buying "BSB" to make their own enigma. GRRR

This kid and I have history. I bought some animals from him and all didn't go smoothly. All errors on his part. I stay calm and offer to work it out. He finally comes around to my thinking. I offer to hand deliver an animal to Melody and Keith, that he sold them. With a price including shipping. He (sorry guys) pretty much screwed them around and then they told him to give the shipping portion to me for gas and he failed to ever mention that. lol I gave up on him and have been ignoring him since. Till this... :main_rolleyes:

Yeah! Also, isn't it common knowledge that things hatch out randomly in all sorts of fun colors. Calling something ultra should look pretty bitchin. Instead they have capabilities of creating all sorts of colors. Yeah, again that's the beauty of this hobby. You can take two amazing geckos and breed them together only to get crappier looking ones. On the other hand you could breed two crappier/avg ones and get amazing offspring.

Ugh...okay, maybe I am truly annoyed here haha.

For someone who cites the dictionary, he still seems to have some serious syntax issues.

"Pretty much proves" is about the dumbest phrase I've ever read.

Ever.

PROOF is 100%. "Pretty much" is like saying 'essentially' or 'it would seem'.

It's either proof or it ain't. End of story. You can't have a Bell that's "pretty much" het for Enigma (or whatever the hell his logic was). The fact of the matter is that a dead baby, of which there is no proof of, and a normally patterned Bell albino don't prove a gosh darn thing.

The only thing that really bothers me about the guy is that some members read his posts and assume he knows what the fuck he's talking about. WE all know how fucking frustrating it is combating all of the misinformation that's out there.

Okay I guess the other thing that bothers me is how he somehow manages to turn any confrontation into some sort of 'pity me' party.

Yeah, that whole deal was handled so poorly by him. It was never about the money for us, I couldn't give a shit about $40 for shipping. It was a test to see if he'd do the right thing. And of course, he did not. And he had mis-sexed the gecko too! I cringed every time he told someone that his incubation temperatures were consistent with his havobator after that.

Jeremy, I think you did the right thing and handled it well. It's a shame that the new members see him posting on everything and assume that he'd credible. He even posted that my new bike was cool right after I showed him that he hadn't hatched an Snow Bell Enigma! I'm pretty sure he must post on every thread at least once.

What if we all pick a phrase for the day and use it for every new thread. For example, "Cool!", or Awesome!", or "Sweet!". Then maybe people will see that we post a lot and believe everything we say.

Jeremy, I am 100% agrrement with your feelings and what you posted on that thread. I tried to back you up yet stay as neutral as I could, but 420 is on my "people I wish would go away" list!

I only posted the general moderator warning to everyone to let them know I was watching the thread, and was I getting the feeling there would be a snow-ball effect coming where the thread could get out of hand. So far, this hasn't happend. Yet.

The only thing that pisses me off is that I had to go read the thread by that igit, I have trying to avoid him as much as possible and the whole BSB or Ultra or Speckled or whatever the fuck he is claiming to have come up with this week.

I actually only read your post Jeremy and I think you did an excellent job, I would have gotten in trouble again if I had posted, you handled it very well.
