I've never really had a problem identifying Mack Snows, but this one makes me say "hmmm"...

It's three days old and has shed once already...

I'm thinking it's the first Mack Snow Pastel I've hatched that I can identify from a hatchling... You normally can't pick them out until they're a few months...

As to what's under the deli hide... :main_lipsrsealed: :main_evilgrin:

Mack Snow Pastel? Would be my best Guess. Its too white to be a regular pastel, but too yellow to be a regular Mack(IMO)

Pastel? Did he hatch early or anything that might effect the color? The bands already look hypoing out. That white band is the stumper. I'd have to go with mack something.

Thanks for the votes and comments everybody!

I'm not surprised about all the normal votes considering many people don't think Mack Pastels deserve to be called a morph... I don't hold anything against you if you do... There hasn't been any conclusive evidence on their genetics, deciding they were dominant came too soon and talk of them being a byproduct dumbed down their appeal... After working with them for a few seasons I'm inclined to call them line-bred or polygenic...

I recently realized what keeping Leopard Geckos means to me after spending an hour looking at a picture of my killer Jungle MS... Sure all the fancy high dollar combos draw me in, but I can't afford them and I know and respect this fact... I find uniqueness and beauty in the ones I "create" although they may seemingly be nothing more than average to others... To have something special and truly one of a kind outweighs thoughts of genetic potential... Thus I forgo these thoughts and share my excitement with others whom may have similar views as mine... Always hoping they will splendor at the creatures I present them...

I voted normal as I had a few Bell Albinos now that turned out not to be Macks even thought they were nearly white and pink.

I voted normal simply because I have hatched plenty of Mack Snows and they are never, ever that yellow at three days old, usually not even at 3 months. However, I do like how light the head is. I could be wrong and if I had to pick a second choice I would say a Mack Pastel. They trend to have light heads and yellow up quite a bit.

There is always something cool looking about them, after all, isn't there? That's the best part of breeding :)

I'm confused about the poll having both mack snow pastel and the mack pastel? It's the same morph right? By going off just the pics alone, I'd say mack snow pastel, but I didn't vote yet b/c I don't know which mack snow pastel I should go w/ in the poll. Does it matter? Wanted to make sure before voting. Also what are the parents of the gecko in question? Pics? Is a very cool looking gecko, Congrats! :)

As I see it, there's Mack Snows and Mack Pastels... Mack Snow Pastel is a combo of the two... Search my threads for Mack Pastel for more on what I think of them...

Dad = Mack Snow Pastel...

Mom = Mack Pastel...

I think It could poss. be a polygenetic thing. I do know Ive hatched a tremper from a sunglow that was whitish and stayed that way I wouldnt really call her a "pastel" or labell her anything. She is simply a very pretty tremper. Really its all about what makes you happy.
