The last couple of times that I've purchased crickets from my local pet store, there have also been small black catapillars and small black beetles mixed in. It seems for every three dozen crickets, there are three of these other insects. Is there a reason these other critters are being kept with the crickets? I just find it strange that everytime I buy crickets that these other bugs are included as well. :main_huh:

The reason is most places are figuring crickets are fish bait. Most places where crickets are stored are not kept clean. From what I have learned of crickets they carry pin worms. Strength in them is built up from eating feces that is available. Can be possible problems for a gecko.
.......I raised them + loved watching the gecko hunt them down, but no longer feed them.........a lot of people do continue, especially with the meal worm thing?? right now........take care. Hj
