So Grendel must be dragging his bits quite alot on his reptile carpet. I've been putting neosporin on it, but doesn't really seem to be healing all that much. (He's had this a little while). None of our other males have this issue. Not sure what's causing it or how to prevent it. All's I know it that's got to be REALLY painful for him.

I use the term "holy balls" a lot out of excitement but this puts a whole new spin to the term. Poor dude, I'm sure that doesn't feel good. I wish him a speedy recovery and I hope you are able to find out what caused it.

Shockingly enough, he's always been that big. lol. I know once in a while I'll catch him marking stuff, but geez. He does spend alot of time in his humid hide, so I don't know if that plays into this at all either.

you might want to think of taking him off the reptile carpet ans putting him on paper towels. that does not look so healthy

Yeah. Go figure, he was good the whole time on the carpet (way better than what the previous place had him on...the dreaded sand) and jsut recently did he start getting this. Crappy since I have a UTH on his tank. Might just get some tile cut at work and be done with it.

I guess anything is possible. Thermometer is on his side of the tank and is currently reading at 91.4. The tape had somehow come undone, so maybe that is the case.

Ya I would turn the heat down on the bottom of the tank and get some soft paper towel for a while, even the tile could make it irritated... poor guy.
