Wanted to share pix of our geckos' digs. They're all in the living room. The collection/adult portion of our geckos will always be a part of the living area, as they seem to react so well to seeing activity around them and we love interacting with them. The reflections off the glass are a drag - makes everything look dirty.
Here's Opus' and Jack/Diane's cages. Of course no one's out to model anything:
Here's Xena/Sahara, and Annie's homes (Annie used her calcium as a sandbox):
And here's how the whole deal looks on the wall:
All are 20 Long tanks with metal mesh lids (I have two cats). They all have low-wattage red "party bulbs" that we turn on at night for viewing and they don't add much heat at all. The substate is ceramic "slate" tile. They all have 6" shelves/hides on the cool end. The new Leos that I haven't repeatedly seen stalk the food bowls yet have their food in their regular ceramic bowls, plus in a cut-down clear plastic plant bowl things so that they can see the worms. I'm neurotic about making sure they're eating enough.
The white cotton cloths are because the temps (I use a temp gun) are just a tad hot on the tile over the UTH (they all have 50-60 gal UTHs) - the cloths take the edge off, and are 100% cotton so bleachable/machine washable.
