Yeah, thats Thorin, aka; The Token Mammal.
He tried standing up to Rock a couple times and managed to get thrown across the floor with that gargantua, baseball bat, monitor tail.
We still have to watch them very closely though, as Rock has taken to invading the cat's space on purpose. I swear he's baiting that poor cat to take another shot at him so he can get him again.
The cat is annoying and throws up on command, but I still like the old guy. Really wish Rock would stop trying to take the poor 'ole boy out.

And I don't care what any expert says, I think reptiles can bond with their humans. Especially savannahs. ;)
It may be a different kind of bonding than mammals share, but theres still a connection, nonetheless.

Aww, poor kitty. Just wanting to lay around lazily like all cats do & has some big ol lizard tormenting him XD Yea, one of our cats I'm not so fond of but I still wouldn't want anything to happen to her.

I personally think reptiles can recognize who takes care of them regularly & trust them. The only reptiles I have at the moment are my 3 leos and my fire skink but my most calm leo likes to come out and be held, will dig at the side of the tank if he can't come out, but will not let himself be held by either of my parents. He'll start to walk onto their hands, lick them and just make a u turn back to me.

But I agree, savs and other bigger lizards do seem to bond with their owners, which I guess is why they always make me think of a reptilian puppy dog when I see pictures or videos of one sitting on someone's lap to get rubs.
