Does any one keep crocodile skinks or sandfish? Or for that matter any other lizards uncommon in the pet trade that make for interesting conversations and pets? If so could you post pics or tell about your unique lizards?

I guess my most "unique" lizards is my blue tongue, but I am going to look for some "different" lizards at the Hamburg show, possibly the two mentioned above. Wish me luck lol.

I have kept a lot of different reptiles. but crocodile skinks and sandfish are not one of them. Just off the top of my head I have kept at one time or another:

Iguanas
bearded dragons
uromastyx
conehead lizards
anoles
tokay gecko
leopard gecko
fat tailed gecko
five lined skinks (blue tailed skinks)
ball pythons
burmese pythons
flapneck chameleon
boxer turtles
snaper turtles

so If you want to know about any of them I may be able to help.

Good luck in your search for a unique lizard. I highly recomend the cone head lizard. not easy to come by and are mostly wild caught but was one of the coolest pets I ever had.

They were just on the front cover of REPTILES, the coneheads I mean. And sadly I have to honestly say... they are one of the ugliest lizards I have ever seen. And I LOVE lizards, coneheads are the only ones I have seen that kinda freak me out. I don't know why... they just do.

But that is quite an awesome span of reptiles you have kept. I'd love to expand my collection in the future and probably will if money and space allow it. I've actually considered opening a Reptile Store... lol!

Yeah I don't know what it is lol, they just freak me out. And I have yet to find a reptile to do that until I saw one of them.

We've kept uromastyx before. They make great pets. They've always reminded me of little bulldogs. They look really tough but they're usually really docile.

There is a baby uromastyx at the Petsmart where we get dog food/feeder fish/etc. that ALWAYS screams "take me home" whenever we go in. As soon as he sees people he runs to the front of his cage to show off how darn cute he is. :smitten:

there was some type of lizard at my petsmart that does that every time i been in there, it kind of looked like an iguana, but the spikes only ran the on the back of the neck, and it had longer rear legs nobody there could even tell me what kind of lizard it was, someone told me it was a basilisk however, it dont have that weird shaped head or fin type things that the basilisk has....., i kneeled down near it and it come running right up to me and gave me the "get me out of here!!!" look, lol!

sandfish are cute.

If you happen to see pink tongue skinks, pick them up!! That's what I have been lusting after for a while.

I don't know if you still care, but I have both sandfish and croc skinks if you need pics still.
