I've never seen the RES feeding guideline but it would seem only feeding what would fit in their hollow head wouldn't be enough for a leo since I think an adult head could only hold like 1-2 full sized crickets or like 3 superworms
Right that's why I said I'm not really trying to compare the two. The food is also different. Turtle sticks are packed with everything they need in some tiny sticks. Crickets need to be dusted in order to get all those vitamins and nutrients. My main point is there is a rule of thumb when it comes to feeding and not getting an obese turtle.
But then that brings me to another thing to think about. If we dust our crickets with repashy calcium plus... The geckos pretty much are getting all that they need from the powder and the crickets just act mainly as a "chaser" to get it down. So do we really need to give them all they can eat in this case?
Sorry for bringing so many Points up at once, but all this is running through my head. My goal isn't to breed and I don't want a fat gecko. Seems like most people givin advice on here are breeders, and they will naturaly have a different approach to feeding since they are breeding their animals.
I over think when it comes to pet care, which is a good thing for the pets but bad for me ahahah!
