Ovulating, Gravid, and Egg Laying

Will females that are of breeding size ovulate and become gravid or even lay eggs if there is no male present?

Do they lay non fertile eggs on a regular basis like chickens do????

They will produce eggs but most of the time they will not lay them. They simply absorb them for calcium

I see. When they are making eggs will they go off food? I have a 65 g female that usually nearly jumps out of the tank and wrestles supers away from me and she'd eat 5 or 6 a day, but now for the last week she seems uninterested.
