Okay I have used the search button on this site for 2 days hoping that an answer to my question would be there. I am a BRAND new to leo parenting life and severely confused with ovulation. We got our girl about a month ago from a pet store(not a chain) run by the actual breeder. She was pretty healthy then and about 2 weeks ago I was joking around that she has gotten extremely fat and how shes pregnant! We had her out to look at how fat she had gotten and we looked at her stomach and it looks like shes ovulating? Now I know girls ovulate i'm just confused as to what it turns into. As far are we know she is a "virgin" and has never been introduced to a male. So here's my stupid question. Every time they ovulate(if never introduced to a male), will the outcome be either she absorbs the eggs or lays duds?If so what circumstances are weighed into that outcome? I know there is a breeding season, during that time to girls ovulated once a month or is it once or just random? Ive posted pictures(horrible quality i'm sorry) Is this definitely ovulation? If not what else could it be? I know this is long and probably dumb, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

To tell if she's ovulating you look at the belly for pink spots. Can you get a picture of her belly? She may have just gotten fat because you're feeding her well :)

Yep. She's ovulating. I see two pink follicles. If you were going to breed her, now would be the time, as she is fertile.

Breeding season and how long ovulation lasts depends on the gecko...it seems to be different for everybody. My girls stopped ovulating early this year...last year they went from January thru Septemper. As far as eggs go, virgins can sometimes lay infertile eggs. They can do this about every three weeks during the season. Or they can just reabsorb the follicles. Both are normal...just make sure you are providing an adequate calcium supplement in her cage, and you're dusting and gut-loading your feeder insects.
